On Tuesday, Aston Villa punched their ticket to the UEFA Champions League after Tottenham Hotspur fell to Manchester City.

As a result, the English club will now need to bolster its team to compete in Europe and domestically, which is why it is eyeing a Paris Saint-Germain player. Aston Villa want to add another Spanish talent to ensure they have the depth necessary for next season.

L’Equipe reports that Carlos Soler is on the Premier League club’s radar. Discussions have been held with Unai Emery’s Aston Villa for several months now, and the matter is progressing.

However, a reasonably central question remains: how much can Paris value a 27-year-old player purchased for around €18 million in 2022 but who has seen minimal usage in recent months?

Soler has made 26 appearances this season across all competitions for the Spanish club, scoring one goal and registering four assists for the Parisians. The 27-year-old likely needs a change of scenery, and playing for Emery, who coached against him in La Liga, might be a good fit.
